Tree Surgeon in Cambridge

Expert Tree Surgeons in Cambridge

Cambridge is renowned for its historic colleges, vibrant green spaces, and an abundance of beautiful trees that enhance the city’s character. Among the most common species are the majestic Plane trees, often lining the city’s streets and parks, and the Weeping Willow, especially near the River Cam. These trees provide shade, charm, and vital habitats for urban wildlife.

Other native and ornamental varieties such as the English Oak, Beech, and Silver Birch can be found throughout residential gardens and public spaces. Together, they form an essential part of Cambridge’s urban ecosystem—improving air quality, absorbing excess rainfall, and supporting biodiversity. Caring for these trees ensures not only the health of the environment but also preserves the aesthetic and historical integrity of the city.

What an absolutely fantastic job by King Of Trees. I had the biggest tree removed and my garden has been transformed. I really wouldn’t know that they’d been a tree there. George was extremely efficient and my garden was left in a very tidy clean state. I highly recommend this business

George & his team were absolutely brilliant. Quote was timely & very competitive. Job was to remove dying willow but power lines & green house were in the way. George & the lads had the tree removed in no time. All waste chipped & removed. They also helped move a few things around the garden to keep mum happy. Really nice guys. Very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 👍

George and Andrew have done several jobs for us over the last year - they are by far the most reliable tree surgeons we have ever used - they turn up when they say they will, they do a superb job and clear up really well afterwards and stick to their quotation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend George and his team - they are excellent

George and his team were just amazing. Very capable, friendly, professional and efficient. They did prune/pollard a row of tall trees and also a very large ash tree bordering a road which interferes badly with electrical cables (risk hazard). They did this in 2 days without having to block the road and clearing up all the rubbish afterwards. UK Powernetworks - which look after the electrical cable network - had insisted on having the road closed, promised action but in fact no action - whilst in the meantime we feared that the tree would damage cables and endanger he public in high winds. Would definitely recommend the team!

A perfect job carried out by George and Andrew involving the removal or pollarding of 14 trees all in awkward and dangerous locations. I highly recommend King of Trees.

FAQ's

Yes, in many cases you do. Trees in Cambridge may be protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs), or they might be located within a Conservation Area—especially around the city centre and historic colleges. We can check this for you and handle the application process if permission is required.
The cost depends on the type of work, the size and condition of the tree, access to the site, and whether specialist equipment is needed. We provide free, no-obligation quotes tailored to your exact requirements.
Absolutely. We’re experienced in working around Cambridge’s historic architecture and take special care to minimise disruption and preserve the surroundings. We’ll carry out a full risk assessment and consult with any relevant authorities if needed.
Generally, late autumn to early spring is ideal for most tree surgery as trees are dormant, but this depends on the species and the type of work required. We can advise you on the best timing to avoid nesting birds and comply with wildlife regulations.
Yes, we do. If a tree has become dangerous due to storm damage or decay, we can respond quickly to make the area safe and carry out necessary removals or stabilisation work.
Definitely. All debris and green waste are removed as standard. We recycle what we can into woodchips or compost, leaving your garden or site tidy.
